Drivers’ competency training & consultancy

For years, many countries had adopted a basic test of driving competency where the required pass standards for competency tended to focus on safety techniques for managing vehicle control and making safe and controlled progress. Once drivers passed the initial competency test, they never needed to prove their driving ability again. Yet, research has found that almost half of experienced drivers would not pass a basic safety road test if they had to retake it today.

Many companies do not see the importance of driver training as the majority see training as a cost rather than an investment. For us, it is an investment that helps a company save costs in the long run as it increases productivity and efficiency by reducing accident rates and insurance claims. Our first client was Unilever Malaysia, an internationally based consumer goods company; and they have continued to be with us till today. Over the years, KPX has grown. Despite stiff competition, KPX has earned its reputation and recognition by providing quality training and services to the industry.

Through referrals from very satisfied clients, KPX has added to its portfolio companies such as Lafarge Cement Berhad, Bintang Group, Nexus Mega Carrier, Tesco Berhad, NYK Lines, Perbadanan Putra Jaya, Monier Roof Tiles Sdn Bhd, Konsotium Logistik Berhad, Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, among others. KPX has also received strong support from local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) which has been a key factor in KPX's growth. Currently KPX Sdn Bhd is servicing more than 45 SMEs.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

A disaster is an event, described as unusually large-scale, costly, publicly involved, unexpected, or have some of the mentioned properties combined. In terms of impact to business organisations, emergency or disaster will affect the normal operation of business entities. Malaysia National Security Council Directive No. 20 (MNSC 20) clearly states that private sector, should independently or jointly (with related government agencies):

  • Identify and document high-risk area
  • Prepare an early warning system
  • Prepare logistical and financial resource
  • Awareness program
  • Develop Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and business continuity
  • Execute emergency drill

Supporting the MNSC 20 is a directive order by Fire and Rescue Department Malaysia, which specifies the development of ERP requires a “qualified and experienced person” in order to adequately draft the plan while taking into consideration various aspects.

Our emergency management consultancy complements our preventive approach to safety. A well plan emergency management enables systematic control and management of disaster, should the worst happens. WHY WOULD YOU NEED A CRASH INVESTIGATION
SERVICE?

It is usually difficult to determine the cause of a road crash because:

  • Accidents always happen very, very quickly – in a matter of seconds
  • There is usually more than one cause / reason for the crash
  • Eye witness accounts are often unreliable – they may be inaccurate, incorrect and conflicting.
  • Parties involved may not remember key details due to trauma
  • Parties may not always tell the truth
  • It may not be possible to obtain victim statements as all involved are no longer alive

This is why our crash investigations, based on considerations such as:

  • Crash site analysis;
  • Vehicle analysis (eg. structural integrity, brakes, tyres, rims etc.)
  • Crash configuration;
  • Speed analysis;
  • Seatbelts
  • Occupant injuries
  • Human factor elements (eg. seatbelt or safety helmet wearing, distracted/fatigued driving)

Will provide objective, scientific – based evidence which greatly influences the accuracy of what caused the accident.

WHO WOULD NEED A CRASH INVESTIGATION
SERVICE?

  • Companies with a fleet of drivers who have got into a road accident while working
  • Companies whose employees frequently drive to meet clients or do marketing or sales
  • Motor insurance companies involved in road accident litigation claims;
  • Lawyers involved in defending or instituting road accident casualty claims .

For claims in court for damages for personal injury and property damage, crash investigation reports and Expert Witness testimony on crash reconstruction could make a vital difference to whether or not there is a finding of liability and to the quantum of damages awarded.

CAN’T WE JUST RELY ON POLICE INVESTIGATION OF THE ACCIDENT?

The police investigate road accidents for the main purpose of finding who was at fault. Our rash investigation service offers additional information that a company can use for:

  • Safety improvement
  • Prevention purposes

Identifying the type of training needed for employees.
